The transition to a green economy has become one of the strategic priorities of Uzbekistan’s national development agenda. Growing environmental challenges, climate change, resource depletion, and increasing energy demand require the adoption of sustainable economic models. Uzbekistan has initiated comprehensive reforms aimed at improving energy efficiency, increasing the share of renewable energy sources, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and promoting environmentally responsible economic growth. The country’s Green Economy Transition Strategy for 2019–2030 serves as the principal framework for achieving these objectives. This study examines the current state of green economy development in Uzbekistan, analyzes major reforms and achievements, and identifies existing challenges and future opportunities. The findings indicate that renewable energy expansion, green investment, technological innovation, and international cooperation are essential factors for ensuring sustainable economic growth. The transition to a green economy is expected to enhance environmental sustainability, create new employment opportunities, improve energy security, and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
