Abstract

This research work is devoted to a comparative analysis of syntactic-stylistic means in English and Uzbek languages within the framework of linguoculturology, which is one of the relevant areas of modern linguistics, in which the role of syntax in expressing national-cultural codes is studied in detail. The main goal of the research is to identify not only artistic-stylistic, but also ethnocultural and cognitive features of inversion devices, ellipsis, rhetorical questions and parallelisms in languages belonging to two different systems. The article, based on the analytical nature of the English language and the agglutinative properties of the Uzbek language, reveals the pragmatic functions of syntactic figures and scientifically substantiates their role in "low-context" and "high-context" cultures. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that while syntactic stylistic devices in English serve mainly for logical emphasis and emotional exaggeration, in Uzbek they are more a leading tool for expressing concepts characteristic of the national mentality, such as social hierarchy, humility, and anxiety. The results obtained are of theoretical and practical importance for the disciplines of translation theory, intercultural communication, and comparative typology.
