Abstract

The article analyzes the current state of the teaching of the subject” the newest history of Uzbekistan " in the higher education system of Uzbekistan. The content of Science – covering the period from 1991 to the present-includes the first years of independence, economic-political reforms, State-Building, international relations and processes of formation of national identity.

From the point of view of the essence, it is argued that science has ideological and educational significance, aimed not only at illuminating historical events, but also at shaping patriotism, a sense of statehood and the ability to think independently in students.
