Stilistische Mittel im poetischen Diskurs: Eine linguistische Analyse von Klang-, Struktur- und semantischen Mustern
Keywords:

This study examines the multifaceted role of stylistic devices in poetic discourse through a systematic linguistic analysis. Building on the theoretical frameworks of Jakobson (1960) and Leech (1969), this research analyzes how phonological, syntactic, and semantic devices contribute to the constitution of poetic meaning. The analysis employs a corpus-based methodology to examine 50 canonical German-language poems from the Romantic and Modern periods. The results show that sound patterns (alliteration, assonance, consonance) occur in 94% of the analyzed texts, while structural devices (enjambment, caesura) appear in 78%. Semantic devices such as metaphor, metonymy, and synesthesia exhibit complex interactions with formal structures. The study concludes that the multilayered use of stylistic devices creates systematic patterns of defamiliarization that distinguish poetic from non-poetic discourse. These findings contribute to our understanding of the linguistic foundations of poetic effects and have implications for stylistic theory, literary pedagogy, and computer-aided text analysis. The research demonstrates that stylistic devices do not function as mere ornamental features, but rather as integral components of poetic communication.
